U.S. Viewers Urged To Discover Chongqing:
"China's City of Opportunity”

While Chinese President Xi, Jinping arrived in New York for his official visit to the UN, a brand new episode of "Discover Chongqing: China's City Of Opportunity" was aired on ABC7 on Saturday, September 26th at 7:30 p.m.

This episode, co-produced by WABC and Cimagine International Group LLC, was preceded by a massive promotion on New York taxis, on TV and online as the city’s tourism officials hoped to give American viewers a window into discovering Chongqing, China's key economic, political and cultural center.

Chongqing is one of China's Five Central Cities and a can’t miss on any visit to China. Deep in Southwest China is one of the most booming cities on earth - a place where ancient history collides with ultramodern amenities; where the natural landscape surrounding the city are some of the most beautiful and mysterious in the world. With its unique energy and some of the friendliest people in China, "Discover Chongqing: China's City Of Opportunity", a hero city during World War II, focused on the business, education and cultural aspects of the city and illustrated how this metropolis draws international attention while showcasing its blend of history and culture.

Chongqing's unique beauty was also showcased in the episode along with its mountains, forests and waterfronts as well as the blossom in spring; tips for staying cool in summer; fruit picking in the Fall and skiing in winter

Areas contained within the city limits like the ancient town called Ciqikou and the quirky amusement park, Foreigner Street, are also seen in "Discover Chongqing: China's City Of Opportunity", along with the breath-taking Dazu Rock Carvings and the spooky "Ghost City" of Chongqing.

This episode also drew a comparison between Chongqing and New York from many aspects including the geographical environment and urban style and features, port culture and humanity while allowing foreign executives and other immigrants who live in Chongqing to speak to the city and the many urban development, interesting food and culture. The series also highlight the famous Chongqing Sichuan Cuisine and the city's claim to fame, the Hot Pot, and some of the most spectacular pieces of art you will see while visiting Chongqing.

All in all, this episode showed the audience a realistic and beautiful mountain city in China- Chongqing.
